Specialist in difficult to treat water in the electro-coating sector
We have over 200 of our ECOAT systems installed in the automotive industry in Europe. Our R1 membrane for Cationic ecoat systems is highly recommended and ideal for Demi Water recycling. Our new NF3A membrane has been developed specifically for Phosphate rinsing water recycling and our NF6 for Anionic and Cationic permeate recycling and waste water. Our XT NF2 is our newest membrane and has been created for pre-treatment rinse water recycling.
REACH membrane technology
The introduction of REACH compliant paints have created new challenges for membrane technology. Our specialist membrane research and development team based in Oceanside, California have created a range of new membranes to address these issues. Our range of membranes include the PV350, ideal for cationic ecoat systems and permeate recycling applications and our PV400 membrane for both cationic and anionic ecoat systems, producing very high permeate quality (less than 0.5% total solids) which are perfect for the new generation of paints
Stage 1 – Electro-coating Tank
A UF system is used to create a solution to recover paint and electro dialysis cells provide stable and a high quality of surface finish which is nowadays required in many machinery branches
Electro dialysis benefits
- Membrane can dry out without damage so it is easy to maintain
- Resistant to mechanical attach as membrane has no housing
- Membrane is strong and doesn’t leak as it is extruded with no joints or gluing
- Anode/cathode ratio is 1:8 or higher
- Membrane and anolyte both work under pressure ensuring paint cannot enter the system reducing acid contamination which could result in a complete system breakdown
Stage 2 – UFR tank
UF system is used to create a solution to recover paint with double permeate flow Solecta benefits
- An energy saving system
- High permeate output
- Fast and easy to replace
- UF1 And UF2 rinse is all one stage
- 15-20% lower solid than a standard PVDF membrane
- Our highly hydrophilic membrane maintains a strong positive charge for use with all cathodic paints
- Enables increased assembly line speed
- Element is more resistant to fouling than standard membranes
- Our R1 membrane produces permeate with total lower solids, holds a positive charge, ideal for cathodic paints and allows increased throughput, line speeds and rack density. It offers better rinsing of excess paint with fewer defects resulting is better bottom line performance
Stage 3 – DI Water or UFR2 Tank
UF/NF/RO system used to keep and recover DI Water Solecta benefits
- Reverse osmosis or nanofiltration can be used
- Our spiral e-coat elements are designed to withstand the high pressure drop typically found in the UF paint line systems
- Stable flow with our R1 membrane for DI water recycling systems
